"Hangin' With Mormor"

Well, it now has been two weeks that Oliver has been coming to Mormor's. Here is what Oliver does when he comes -- he "hangs" out on the Lizards and chews whatever it is that he can put into his mouth.

He loves the jumpy seat that we have for him but still has to have something to chew on.

Last week when Oliver was here we put a "boppy" behind him because his balance wasn't quite there yet but L O O K what we figured out this week! We can sit by ourselves and maintain balance.

He loves to sit and play and smile.

After Oliver's morning nap today a "big" truck pulled in the driveway and we went out to see what it was. He was fascinated by the truck.

The guys were delivering a brand new grill for Morfar and Mormor.

Then Oliver and I decided to go for an adventure and take a little walk. Oliver got to see another big truck with a bobcat on behind that was getting ready to cut branches away from the power poles. Then we walked by a garden but the flowers were all done blooming. Across the street was more construction.

We made our Walgreens destination after seeing all of the fun things.

Marmie called while we were at Walgreens to say that she was coming early to pick up Oliver so we high-tailed it back home and showed Marmie the new grill which she decided needed some very small footprints on the new stainless steel.

(I can't wait until the 1st of August when Danya and Laura come to visit at Nana's house. It will be fun to be able to post about her adventures in Minnesota.)

The other day when Oliver was over -- I got to laughing because he was sitting on my lap making noises but his mouth wasn't moving all of the time. They are just too cute not to share. He brings a whole new meaning to talking just to hear myself.

Oliver's First Day at Mormor's

What fun we had! I picked Oliver up at about 9 am and returned home. He ate and napped in the morning and then we read a book that my big sister, Connie, used to read to me. When I found the books were back in publication, I ordered a complete set and can't wait to read them to Oliver over the summer and beyond. The books are the stories of "Snipp, Snapp, & Snurr" and "Flicka, Ricka, & Dicka" (original copywright is between 1936 & 1946 by Albert Whitman & company in both the United States and Canada). They are stories of three boys from Sweden who seem to get in trouble a lot and three little girls from Sweden who don't seem to get into any trouble. Imagine that!!

After a short cat nap after lunch - Oliver helped me with some computer issues I was having -- he was a B I G helper as you can see.

Then it was time for a little tummy time before an afternoon nap before Marmee came to pick him up.

I can't wait until Wednesday to see what we will be doing. Never now what the day will hold.

Father's Day

Happy Father's day to all those men who have the pleasure of raising children.

After a very relaxing time at the trailer, I headed out to watch the Central Baptist Church team play a little softball in the park not far from home.

It's always fun to watch Liz as she plays in the outfield and catches many, many, many balls as well as throw from the outfield to third base -- what an arm Liz!
And then to see so many fans come out to support the guys is also fun.

And they won both games -- way to go guys!!

Oliver's Dedication/1/2 Birthday Day

And what a day it was. It started out with Michelle and I heading to Mindware, a store next to where she works for a warehouse sale -- you can not believe how many people were there filling boxes with items to purchase. Michelle and I found a few games for her to take with to Iceland, and then discovered the Lizards puzzle. It is from an M.C. Escher creation that makes into a sponge mat to play on. You can put the lizards in different places and it changes shape -- it was a hit with Eme, Michelle, and myself.

Then we had people arrive for the "Oliver" celebration. I think I counted about 26 people there. It was a beautiful day for a dedication. We had people from the neighborhood standing out in their yards watching as Rob Boyd did the honors for Margaret and Jerimy (for those who caught the error). Then it was time for pictures. It was fun to have all here (we missed having Laura, John and Danya with us).

After that crowd left we invited the Bonkoski's over to spend time with Eme and Jon. We barbequed and held Oliver (who stuck around for a bit). The day ended well and all slept good that night.
