September -- Where did it go?
So much has happened in the month of September -- it's hard to keep up! Eme and Jon made a decision to move back from Chicago, Jeremy and Michelle bought a house and moved in (well, sort of) and Jerimy and Margaret celebrated their anniversary. But the best thing to happen in September was that Oliver got to spend the night at Mormor's house.
It was Friday, the 26th. I picked up Oliver after I finished with work and we came home to play with toys he hadn't seen for a while. His favorite is the remote to the fan in the living room. He loves to push the buttons. Oliver likes to chase Kleo around but Kleo tends to run from him. At one point Kleo went outside and Oliver stood by the sliding glass doors talking to Kleo through the glass. Too bad, I didn't have the camera handy. It was too cute.
Then we went to Auntie Mick Mick's to celebrate Uncle J's birthday. Auntie Mick Mick fed Oliver his banana and bottle. He played with her magnetic alphabet letters on her refrigerator and spent time exploring her kitchen.
We came home, tired but still quite happy. Mormor got a chance to cuddle and rock him before he went to bed so all was good. At 3:15 Oliver woke up with a very wet diaper and in need of a little more to eat. Mormor could hear him crying at that time but couldn't quite figure out whose baby was crying -- then it dawned on me -- ding dong it's your grandson! Boy did I get out of bed in a quick second to tend to his needs. More cuddling and rocking and he was back to sleep. Saturday morning Marmee and Daddy came over to pick him up at 9:00. He wasn't awake but when he saw Marmee, all was definitely right with his little world.
Thanks Oliver for a fun night. Let's do it again soon!!

Labor Day / End of Summer
For me Labor day signals the end of summer and back to work. But what really is Labor Day? I checked it out on the internet and this is what I found -- " Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. The first Labor Day holiday was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City, in accordance with the plans of the Central Labor Union. The Central Labor Union held its second Labor Day holiday just a year later, on September 5, 1883. In 1884 the first Monday in September was selected as the holiday, as originally proposed, and the Central Labor Union urged similar organizations in other cities to follow the example of New York and celebrate a "workingmen's holiday" on that date. The idea spread with the growth of labor organizations, and in 1885 Labor Day was celebrated in many industrial centers of the country." There's what I learned.
For us we celebrated with Michelle, Jeremy, Margaret, Jerimy, Oliver, Emelia and Jon at the trailer with a BBQ. Jon's parents joined us at the camper for dinner and S'mores. It was time to enjoy with the girls and their husbands and Oliver, our grandson. It is always fun to have Eme and Jon back from Chicago for a weekend and we look forward to having them home in Minnesota for good at the end of September. The rest of the time was for relaxing and enjoying being out of doors for one more day.
I had a chance to go with Michelle to meet her best friend's fiance. What fun to see Jenny happy and looking forward to her own wedding.
Congratulations Jenny and Jared. (Jenny, your mom and I will be talking.)
